In her talk at the GRAMMY Museum last night, after about an hour of talking music, the last question was about her iconic look. She walked through its evolution, with origins going back to her childhood and the want of a uniform. “I didn’t want to be Madonna,” she said. She wanted a look was her and didn’t need to be changed with each new album or project. In describing it she talked about the leg warmers that eventually became “leg warmer pants”. “You might recognize them from Prince. He wears them, too.” He “stole” them from her she said, but it was ok because he asked, and she approved. :)
